Arrival at the Hotel Erzherzog Rainer by car
From the west (A1 – Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Switzerland, Germany...)
- Reach Vienna via the A1 (Westautobahn) exit Auhof
- Go straight and follow the road towards Zentrum: Wientalstraße – Hietzinger Kai– Schönbrunner Schlossstrasse (past Schönbrunn Palace) – Schönbrunner Straße – Rechte Wienzeile (approx. 12 km)
- Shortly after the beginning of the Naschmarkt (outside marketplace) situated on the left, turn right into Heumühlgasse
- Turn left into the 1st street (Mühlgasse)
- Turn right into the 3rd street (Schleifmühlgasse) up to Wiedner Hauptstraße
- Turn right into the Wiedner Hauptstraße up to Mozartgasse (2nd street left)
- The entrance to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer is in Mozartgasse
From the south (A2/A23 – Graz, Klagenfurt, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia)
- Reach Vienna via the A2
- Exit Inzersdorf towards Zentrum
- Drive along Triesterstraße to Matzleinsdorferplatz (after approx. 6 km – undercrossing railway bridge)
- At Matzleinsdorferplatz, first turn left, getting into the right lane, and cross the Gürtel
- Turn right into Wiedner Hauptstraße
- The 16th street on the right is Mozartgasse – there you will find the entrance to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer
From the east (A4 – Budapest, airport)
- Reach Vienna via the A4 (Ostautobahn), following it to the end
- Continue straight ahead towards Zentrum along Schüttelstraße and Untere Donaustraße up to Aspernbrückengasse Urania (observatory)
- Turn left across the Aspernbrücke (bridge)
- Drive along Ringstraße to Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera)
- Turn left into Operngasse
- Turn left into Schleifmühlgasse up to Wiedner Hauptstraße
- Turn right into Wiedner Hauptstraße up to Mozartgasse (2nd street on the left)
- The entrance to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer is in Mozartgasse
From the north (A22 – Prague, Brünn)
- Reach Vienna via the A22 (Donauuferautobahn)
- Exit Nordbrücke towards Zentrum
- Across the Nordbrücke, keep left toward Zentrum
- Drive straight along the Donau channel down Nußdorfer-, Heiligenstädter- and Rossauer Lände and the Franz-Josefs-Kai up to Ringstraße
- Turn right into Ringstraße up to the Vienna State Opera
- Immediately after the opera, turn left into Operngasse and drive to Schleifmühlgasse
- Turn left into Schleifmühlgasse
- Next street on the right (Wiedner Hauptstraße)
- Take the 2nd street (Mozartgasse) on the right
- The entrance to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer is in Mozartgasse
From the Northeast (Wagramerstraße)
- Reach Vienna via Wagramer Straße
- Drive straight, past the Vienna International Center, across the Reichsbrücke and Lasallestraße up to Praterstern
- Exit Praterstern (traffic circle) in a straight line via the Praterstraße (towards the centre = ‘Zentrum’)
- At the end of Praterstraße turn left
- Continue straight across the Donau channel (Aspernbrücke) into Ringstraße up to the Vienna State Opera
- Immediately after the opera, turn left into Operngasse and drive to Schleifmühlgasse
- Turn left into Schleifmühlgasse
- Take the next street on the right (Wiedner Hauptstraße)
- Take a right into Mozartgasse, the 2nd street on the left
- The entrance to Hotel Erzherzog Rainer is in Mozartgasse
